Dry Day AI (“we,” “our,” or “us”) respects your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights over it.

Who We Are

Dry Day AI is an iOS and web app that helps people track sobriety, talk to an AI coach, and access crisis support. The app is built by Brandon Supernaw under Ovalike AI, based in California, USA.

What We Collect

Account information

When you sign up, we collect:

• Email address
• Password (stored hashed — we never see it)
• Display name (optional, you can change anytime)
• Quit date (optional, you can change anytime)

Sobriety tracking data

• Days sober / streak count
• Daily mood check-ins
• Logged slips and recoveries
• Goals you select (e.g., “cut back,” “stop completely”)

Conversations with the AI Coach

• Messages you send to the AI Coach
• Messages you send to SOS Crisis Mode
• Coach responses to those messages

These conversations are stored on our servers (Supabase) so you can resume them across devices.

Subscription information

• Whether you're on the free or paid plan
• Subscription status (active, trial, expired)
• Platform you subscribed on (iOS via Apple, web via Stripe)

We do NOT store your credit card or payment details. Apple and Stripe handle all billing.

Technical data

• Device type (iPhone model, iOS version)
• App version
• Anonymized error logs (when something crashes, so we can fix it)

We do NOT collect:

• Your real name (unless you choose to use it as your display name)
• Your phone number
• Your location
• Your contacts
• Your photos
• Anything outside the app

How We Use Your Data

We use your data to:

• Provide the app's core features (tracking, AI coaching, SOS support)
• Save your progress so you can continue across sessions
• Process your subscription
• Fix bugs and improve the app
• Send you account-related emails (password resets, subscription changes — never marketing unless you opt in)

We do NOT:

• Sell your data to anyone
• Share your conversations with advertisers
• Use your conversations to train AI models
• Track you across other apps or websites

Who We Share Data With

We share limited data with these service providers (and only as much as needed for the app to work):

• Supabase — stores your account and conversation data
• Anthropic, DeepSeek, Google (via OpenRouter) — process your AI Coach messages to generate responses (these providers do NOT train on your messages per our agreements)
• Apple — handles your iOS subscription billing
• Stripe — handles web subscription billing (if you sign up via web)
• RevenueCat — manages subscription state across platforms
• Vercel — hosts our app servers

We do NOT share your data with advertisers, data brokers, or anyone outside this list.

Your Rights

You have the right to:

Delete your data

Inside the app: Settings → Privacy → Delete chat history (wipes all your AI conversations) or Delete account (wipes everything).

Account deletion is permanent and immediate. We cannot recover deleted accounts.

Export your data

Email support@drydayai.com and we'll send you a copy of your data within 30 days.

Correct your data

Edit your display name, email, and quit date inside the app at any time.

Cancel your subscription

For iOS: iPhone Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions → Dry Day AI → Cancel
For web: Settings → Subscription → Cancel

If you have an active iOS subscription and delete your account, you'll need to cancel the subscription separately in iPhone Settings or Apple keeps charging you. We can't reach into Apple's billing.

EU users (GDPR)

You have additional rights under GDPR including the right to object to processing, the right to data portability, and the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. Email support@drydayai.com for any GDPR requests.

California users (CCPA)

We do not sell your personal information. You have the right to know what we collect and request deletion under CCPA. Email support@drydayai.com for any CCPA requests.

Data Retention

• Active accounts: We keep your data as long as your account is active.
• Deleted accounts: Permanently removed within 30 days of deletion (some backups may take up to 90 days to fully purge).
• Inactive accounts: If you don't sign in for 24 months, we may delete your account after notifying you via email.

Children's Privacy

Dry Day AI is intended for users 17+ (Apple's age rating requirement for content related to alcohol). We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 17. If we learn we have collected data from someone under 17, we will delete it immediately. If you believe a minor has used our app, contact us at support@drydayai.com.

Crisis Support Disclaimer

Dry Day AI's SOS Crisis Mode and AI Coach are NOT a substitute for professional medical, psychiatric, or addiction treatment. They are tools for everyday support, not emergency services.

If you are experiencing a medical emergency, alcohol withdrawal symptoms (shaking, hallucinations, seizures), thoughts of self-harm, or a mental health crisis, please call:

• SAMHSA National Helpline: 1-800-662-4357 (free, confidential, 24/7)

Security

We use industry-standard encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and at rest. Our service providers (Supabase, Vercel, Apple) maintain SOC 2 / ISO 27001 compliance. No system is 100% secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your data.

If we ever experience a data breach affecting your information, we'll notify you within 72 hours.

Changes to This Policy

We'll update this page if our practices change. Material changes will be announced via email and in-app notice. The “Last updated” date at the top reflects the current version.
